A daughter of the late Virgil and Vallie Shumake Weaver, she was born on July 4, 1923 in Bridgewater and lived the majority of her life in the Endless Caverns area. She graduated from Harrisonburg High School.Mrs. Myers was a member of the Shenandoah Valley Chapter No. 76, Order of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary of Hose No. 4. During Mr. Myers’s service in the US Army during WW II, they lived in various states. Mr. and Mrs. Myers owned and operated “Buddy & Violet’s Tax Service” and enjoyed raising strawberries and Christmas trees on their farm.Violet had worked at Mick or Mack, Peoples Drug Store, Harrisonburg Telephone Co., Dunham Bush and was a USDA Poultry Inspector. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family along with gardening, growing sunflowers and marigolds. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and riding her 4-wheeler. Violet was born in Colorado and made California her home as a child. She graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1950. Violet met her husband, Maurice Myers, and settled in Brentwood to raise three sons. She worked for Bank of America for 20 years. Violet was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Maury.
