Steve Rovithis obituary – Steve Rovithis of Feeding Hills, MA left us peacefully on April 22, 2022, at the age of 75, with the comfort of his immediate family around him. Steve was born on September 26, 1946, to Demetrios and Maria (Vlastos) Rovithis in Malia, Crete, Greece.
Steve immigrated to Springfield, MA in 1960 and then completed trade school at Springfield Trade High School.
Thereafter, Steve succeeded in many roles including delivering the Springfield newspaper, a tailor, a short order cook, a landlord, and a truck driver before settling into his 33-year career as a telecommunications technician with AT&T and Verizon.
Steve was honorably discharged in 1968 after serving in the US Navy Seabees – Amphibious Construction Battalion 2. In 1970, Steve met his beautiful wife Sharon at New England Telephone. They wed in 1977, were married for 45 years, and had two sons, Steven and Adam.
Steve loved the game of soccer and played semi-professional for Ludlow Luisitanos, before coaching many years for his sons. He would never miss their soccer, baseball, or tennis games or his grandchildren’s soccer, hockey, tennis, lacrosse, cheerleading, dance, gymnastics, and horseback events. Click here for more.
