Millwood’s Daniel Howard Death: FHSU Football Player Millwood’s Daniel Howard Dies At 22

Daniel Howard, an FHSU (Fort Hays State University) and Millwood High School football player, died on Sunday, January 1, 2023. The sad news of his death was shared on social media by Millwood High School.

“With an extremely heavy heart, the Millwood Football program and community mourn the passing of Daniel Howard, Class of 2019, who passed away on January 1st,” the statement reads.

“This is a devastating loss for the Howard and Millwood families. Daniel was a great teammate who cared so much about the Millwood football program. “It showed in his competitive spirit, his work ethic, and his willingness to be there for his teammates, coaches, and teachers,” it adds.

His cause of death was not disclosed.

Daniel Howard was a college-level football player from Oklahoma City. He stood 6-foot-3 inches tall and weighed 185 pounds. The all-around athlete was from Millwood High School in the Class of 2019.

Due to Howard’s outstanding performances and stats at several college camps, Missouri State, Texas State, and Utah State had all offered him scholarships. His varsity career, though, got off to a rocky start.

He was a standout defender and quarterback for Centennial High School in his freshman year. Sadly, his team’s final record was 1-9. But Howard kept getting better and better until he was one of the best defenders in the country at his position.

Feel free to drop condolence messages and prayers for the family and friends of the deceased, as it will go a very long way at this difficult time of theirs.
