Iris Rosario of Colonial Heights, VA, killed in Temple road crash, report says

Iris Rosario Death – Iris Lydia Rosario, a 42-year-old woman from Colonial Heights, VA, was reportedly killed while crossing the road in Colonial Heights on Wednesday morning. Lydia Rosario was identified the victim that died while crossing the road on Temple Avenue on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

According to police, Iris Lydia Rosario, of Colonial Heights, was walking southbound on Temple Avenue near the Conduit Road intersection when the driver of a Toyota sedan traveling east on Temple Avenue hit her. Rosario died at the scene as a result of the injuries sustained.

As a result of the accident, Temple Avenue was closed to traffic in both directions for several daytime hours, the road has since been reopened.

The Colonial Heights Police Department and Virginia State Police also responded to complete the on-scene investigation.

Police said any possible charges will be pending the completion of the investigation.

Police is imploring anyone who has any information or may have witnessed the crash to contact Officer Morgan Davis at 804-520-9300.

Colonial Heights is located on just north of the Appomattox River across from the modern-day City of Petersburg at the river’s fall line It is located south of Chesterfield County (practically surrounded by it except for a south border with Petersburg) and in some areas, Swift Creek divides the city from the count
