Diane Hackett Death – Diane Hackett, member of the Dan Air cabin staff at Manchester reportedly died on Sunday, September 11, 20222. According to a publication by Dan Air Staff, ” Diane Hackett (née Humpage) 1940-2022, It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Diane on 11th September 2022”.

Diane Hackett, a pivotal member of the Dan Air cabin staff at Manchester, was well known to many. She began her Dan Air career as a temp at London Gatwick during the early 60’s, after which she was taken on permanently and transferred to Manchester following the opening of its base.

As Manchester operations grew, she was promoted to Base Stewardess, in charge of the training and management of all Cabin Crew. Her tenure with Dan Air was such that she experienced many of its varied fleets, including the DC3, Ambassador, BAC1-11, Comet and Boeing 727. A highly talented and multilingual individual, she was temporarily seconded to Berlin, where she oversaw the training of the first cabin crew working out of the newly established Tagel base.

Following this, she was selected as part of the Boeing 707 cabin crew for its World Tour in March 1974 – an experience she often referred to as one of the highlights of her flying career. After 25 years of dedicated service, she was personally presented with a commemorative clock by Fred Newman.

As Base Stewardess, she saw out the remaining years of Dan Air until 1992. She will be sadly missed.

Diane Hackett Obituary – Diane Hackett passed away with her loving family by her side. Diane retired from the Raytown School District with over 25 years of dedication for the students and staff.

Diane is survived by her husband, Roger of 36 years; daughter, Jenelle; two sons, Daniel and Jeff; 4 grandchildren, Zach, Jordan, Cammie, and Wyatt; one great-granddaughter, Aspyn; Diane has a sister, Debbi of Denver, and brother, David of Raytown, as well as several nieces and nephews.
