Christopher Askew obituary – Lt. Christopher Todd Askew of Westlake Fire Department passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 12, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. Christopher was born on January 6, 1966 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jay & Ruthann Askew, he had one brother, Bart Askew.

Chris graduated from MacArthur HS in Irving, TX where he excelled in sports, playing baseball, football and basketball. He then graduated from Texas A&M University, class of 1990, with a degree in Business Management.

In 1994, Chris was married to Jennifer Lange Askew and they have two children, a son, Luke, and a daughter, Lauren. Chris is survived by them and many loving extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, J. Haskell Askew, Josephine Rogers Askew, John W. Dwyer, and Hope Reed Dwyer.

Chris was a decorated fire officer with 15 years of service to the citizens of the Westlake area. Chris also held a real estate broker’s license. A former professional golfer, Chris still had a passion for golfing.

He also loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He particularly enjoyed spending time at his family ranch and summer trips to Colorado with his family where he loved to fly fish. Click here for more.
